Overview
An app designed for market-goers
Shopping local and supporting local producers is beneficial to both environment and the local economy. At the same time, the consumers can purchase the freshest and healthy products. However, there are a lot of barriers and pain points in shopping local, especially during this global pandemic. After a series of user research and competitive analysis, I designed Famer’s market shopping app to provide a better also more convenient shopping experience for market-goers.

Challenges & Approach
User-centered design and empathizing with users
The design process was constantly involving users’ participation to either discover or validate the design decisions. This includes initial user interview, personas building, user scenario & emotion journey, rapid testing and preference testing. Through this process, as a designer, I could truly discover the things I don’t know and make a more usable product.

Retrospective & impact
Standing in the user's shoes
With a SUS (system usability scale) score of 82, we've achieved a positive user experience, and we'll keep adapting to meet evolving user needs.
It is crucial to conduct initial user interviews to map out empathy, enabling us to address users’ true concerns. Finding out things we don’t know that we don’t know is extremely valuable.
Don’t ignore border user research. In this case, how vendors’ business model influences users’ behaviors.
To best practice accessibility design standards, an accessible application creates a more inclusive digital experience.
